WHO ARE WE?

Question Mark

That's a tough one - it is a question that has spawned hundreds of scientific and philosophical debates for thousands of years. But beyond being bipedal primate mammals, or organisms whose existence is defined by thought, we are simply two cinematographers /photographers who think outside the box.

We like ice cream, swimming at twilight, and the occasional Youtube video. We love Martin Scorsese and Darren Aronofsky films. We listen to Arcade Fire and Tokyo Police Club, and have immense respect for Kanye West's work.

We appreciate art, but we enjoy making it much more. Our work is inspired by music and can take many forms. If there is any single word that can describe what we do here at Outside In, it would be "unique". We stand out because we do things differently, while giving you a product that is beautiful and of upmost quality. So make the best decision you can possibly make, and let us turn your project outside in!

As a filmmaker, I have worked to create my own characteristic style – one that can be readily identified by its beautiful cinematography, attention to detail, and creative editing. These elements govern all areas of my work, from narrative to event videography – and, regardless of the project, my goal is to make a visual masterpiece with a strong story. The same method applies to my photography. If I'm capturing a moment that lasts a fraction of a second, it has to tell a story, and it has to be meaningful. When not documenting the intricacies of life, I enjoy well-crafted lattes and lazy sundays.. (Portfolio: ricardopadilla.ca)

Creatively, my style has always been one of narrator/documenter. Like a regular ol' Christopher Columbus, I absolutely revel in the discovery and capture of all that I seek. Unlike C. Columbus however, my tool of choice is a camera lens, through which I find myself capturing the subtleties of the environments around me. On the field, what really matters to me is that my photos and videos encapsulate a moment and tell a story. Off the field, you can find me tinkering with my grandfather's old film camera, or learning new songs on the ukulele. (Portfolio: flickr.com/victoriamcclure)
